Soak natural fiber fabric in soda ash and water.

Scrunch up fabric on top of a rack over a bucket.

pile on  the ice!

sprinkle powdered dye randomly on top of the ice.  3-4 colors make for more color variations.

Let the ice melt, making sure the fabric doesn't sit in the dye water.

Wash your fabric and enjoy!
