The start of The Day and Night Dress Challenge is less than a week away, and all of the blogging team has been hard at work on their day and night looks. Today, here’s a Day and Night Dress Challenge sneak peek of everyone’s work. Let’s see what everyone has been up to:
Meg of Cookin’ and Craftin‘:
Tanya of Mrs. Hughes writes,”I’m using this black Anna Sui lace to make B6415 (view C) with black bridal satin. As I never wear black, it was difficult not to pair this lace with a color…. For my day dress, I’m making the Turner dress in a charcoal floral double knit which is on its way to me.”
Tee of Maggie Elaine writes: “Here is a sneak peek of my day dress, except I am about to take the back bodice apart to fix it lol”.
Do you ever have that feeling when you see fabric or a pattern and think, “This looks just like ____ person?” I’m totally seeing that in Je’Tua of Robertswife‘s choice for her night look below. I love it when that happens!
Linda of Elle Gee Makes is finishing up this fabulous day dress. All I can say is go, go pocket matching!
Brittany of Brittany J Jones is working with some great lace fabric for her night look.
Melissa of Mahlicadesigns is working on these two dresses by Straight Stitch Designs. I love the sequin zebra fabric!
Judith of Judith Dee’s World says that she is, “Going back to my first love: Prints!!
Haven’t work with print since end of summer!
Now will go do some pattern modifications for my second dress!”
Bianca of Thanks I Made Them will no doubt be an elegant lady in this silver sparkle black gown.
Tonya of So Sew Petite has got a good handle on her night look as she finishes up this Burda style pattern.
Sonja of Sewing ala Carte is using these beautiful zippers to add some of her signature style to her day and night looks.
Maria of How Good is That is doing a great job showing off the beautiful tulip sleeves of Victory Pattern’s Nicola dress. I can’t wait for the final look!
Renata of Runningnstyle has some great ideas going that she shares in her inspiration post, and here is the start of her day dress.
Daniela of On the Cutting Floor shares, “Hello, here is a sneak peek of my day and night dresses and their inspiration: I wanted to make two V-neck dresses for this challenge, so I chose the night dress inspiration from Rochas pre-fall collection. Mine will be made in ponte de roma. The day dress is inspired by the one Victoria B is using in the picture. The main fabric will be the dark blue jacquard. I have not yet decided on the other colors, though.”
I adore the neckline of this vintage pattern that Melanie of It’s Melanie Darling is going for in her night look. Good things are yet to come here!
Working on my Night Dress for the Day and Night Dress Challenge, hosted by @elizabethmadethis. This beautiful, super soft textured crepe is cut and prepped and ready to be sewn. #dayandnightdresschallenge #itsmelaniedarling #seamstress #isew #iblog #blogger #clothier #mystylefeatures #fashion #grownupfashion #diy
Doja of Elewa blog is working on a day dress from this gorgeous jacquard. She has a knack for finding fabric with great texture. This one is going to be a knockout for sure!
As for me, Elizabeth of Elizabeth Made This, I’m finishing up some embroidery on the bodice of a Patternreview Winter Street Dress. I have a sleeve hack planned for this dress that I’m hoping works out. Until then, doodle stitching it is!
The black lace bolero that I managed to enter into Patternreview’s One Yard Wonder Contest is going to be part of my night look.
